This site is in major flux right now. I just moved everything back onto a Slackware 11 box after having it all on a fedora machine for a while. I thought the fedora system would be easier to maintain, but I was dead wrong. Slack just works. During the migration I decided to move all of my email over to Google Apps for your domain which is growing on my preety quickly and I will post all about that once I get the migration all done. Anyway, the webserver is up again, but I don’t have wordpress configured to my liking, once I get that done I will put back up the theme and photo galeries.
I am now a biker… officially. I was in and out of the DMV satuday morning by 8:30am and I had a motorcycle by 2pm… preety good day all in all. There are photos in the gallery if you are interested.
So I finally bit the bullet and went with a vps instead of hosting from home. I was just getting fed up with slow upload speeds and trying to seperate my network properly into public and private areas. Now I won’t have to worry about that any more. I’m using a wonderfull service provided by http://www.quantact.com which is located here in San Francisco. Anyway, let me know if there are any problems.
Well it is official, my thesis is finally done and I have my Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Much thanks to my very supportive wife and Joanna who advised me throughout the project. I will probably get around to posting the paper here at some point when I get around to revising this site yet again.
WHO REALLY WON THE SUPER BOWL? By Marco Iacoboni
This is a great piece on brain activity during the superbowl. A much more scientific look at ad effectiveness than the usual studies… enjoy.
This study says that
Complex decisions are best left to your unconscious mind to work out, according to a new study, and over-thinking a problem could lead to expensive mistakes.
you should read it before you go out and buy the new car. Very very cool.
It’s Here!!
Apple - MacBook Pro has been released. With a dual core intel cpu and a built in iSight among a host of other things this mac is AMAZING! Check it out right now, and then go and buy two… one for you and one for me!

Apple turns on iPod TV with NBC deal - vnunet.com
Apple announced today that it has partnered with NBC to offer some very cool programming. Now you can download Late Night with Connan O’Brian the next day to watch on your way to work. Itunes will also be providing a bunch of old shows including Night Rider. This seems to me like a great place to take this service, though I’m not sure if a drive down memory lane with Kit and Michel is worth the asking price or $1.99 an episode. Apple and NBC should consider some sort of differential pricing for these old favorites, or else allow you to purchase every episode for a lower price and then download them one at a time. Still I’m going to stick to my TV for watching TV, then again I listen to most of my music on my TV too, so maybe I’m just not in the target market.
